Site Coordinator

Jamie is the Site Coordinator at APG Beacon. As a Bay Area native with a decade of experience in education, she is passionate about supporting youth and families in her community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, taking their dog on walks, thrifting, dancing, and discovering delicious food.

Family Liaison and Service Dog

Denelle is the Family Liaison at A.P. Giannini. She grew up on the Peninsula and now calls San Francisco home. With a background in education and social community settings, she is passionate about supporting kids and families and giving back to the community that raised her. Outside of work, you can find her enjoying time at the beach with her service dog Oso, her certified good boy and favorite four-legged companion.

Garden Educator

Ansel is the APG Garden and Outdoor Education Teacher, and they also coordinate our garden community events and host garden club for students on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch. Ansel has been working in outdoor education in the Bay Area for over 12 years, and their passion is getting youth outside! In their spare time, Ansel guides kayaking, backpacking, and hiking trips for youth and adults. They love exploring SF City Parks, finding new restaurants in their neighborhood, and traveling.

Youth Engagement Lead and Food Pantry Coordinator

Cam is the Youth Engagement Lead and Food Pantry Coordinator at A.P. Giannini. They are passionate about being the supportive adult they wish they had growing up—someone who reminds young people to treat themselves with the care they deserve. Outside of work, Cam loves sports and the arts. You can find them playing hockey or soccer, or getting crafty at home!

Program Manager

Beth is the Program Manager at APG Beacon, where she supports and oversees expanded learning programs and teams. She is passionate about working with youth and creating spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to discover their strengths and reach their potential. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, finding reasons to laugh, and trying new things whenever she gets the chance.

Academic Liaison

Ted is the Academic Liaison and a Special Education Teacher at A.P. Giannini, with 19 years of experience teaching special education in San Francisco. He enjoys working with middle schoolers because they’re funny, unpredictable, and at an age where the right adult can make a real difference. Outside of work, he placed 2nd in the country at the Judo Junior Nationals—but these days, he’s a little less interested in getting thrown onto a mat!

Director of Creative Arts

Jon is an artist and educator originally from NY who founded the Electronic Music Program (EMP). For more than 20 years, EMP has taught generations of students DJing and music production, produced 60+ compilations of original youth music, and brought the jams to countless dances and community events at the school. Jon is also an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning media artist whose work spans music, theater, film, and fine art. These days, he primarily manages Sunset Media Wave, BACR's high school program in the outer sunset.

Sunset Media Wave Coordinator

Caley is an educator and interdisciplinary artist working in the fields of printmaking, collage, and independent zine publishing. She teaches printmaking techniques and brings an accessible DIY ethos to Sunset Media Wave. Silk is an Outer Sunset resident who has spent the past 12 years developing arts education programming for local youth and families. 

Clay is the 8th Grade Program Leader from San Francisco. He supports Student Government and leads the 8th Grade cohort during After School. He got into education because he wanted to inspire creativity and artistic expression. He also teaches students how to make music with iPads! Outside of work, he enjoys making music, photography, drawing, and bouldering. A fun fact about him is that he is teaching himself music theory!

Pasha is a 7th grade Program Leader from San Francisco. His passion for sports and fitness led him to work with kids through basketball summer camps and the Boys & Girls Club before joining the team here. He is currently pursuing a career in physical therapy, and his experience at A.P. Giannini has been an important part of his journey. Outside of work, Pasha enjoys staying active, traveling, and trying good food.

Lynda is a Program Assistant originally from Fresno who relocated to San Francisco to attend school. They chose to work with youth because they are passionate about helping young people overcome anxieties, discover their interests & build confidence. Outside of work, you can find her sunbathing at the beach or the park.

Isabel is a 6th Grade Program Leader from San Francisco. With a background in education and the performing arts, she is interested in fostering creativity and self-expression in youth. Outside of work you can find her spending time outside. She also has a pet fish named Bert!

Maxine is a 7th Grade Program Leader from the Bay Area with a passion for teaching and supporting youth. As an aunt to seven nieces and nephews, she has years of experience guiding and connecting with young people. Outside of work, you can find her sewing, drawing, knitting, making cosmetics, exploring Japanese culture, or watching anime.

Camila is a 6th grade Program Leader originally from Peru and now based in the East Bay. With a passion for community and youth outreach, she enjoys the creativity and freedom that comes with youth education. Outside of work, you can find her exploring photography and history, volunteering with local archive collections, and working as an editor for a local analog photography magazine.

Jason is a 6th Grade Program Leader originally from Salinas, California. He chose to work in youth education because he loves making a positive impact in children’s lives and being part of their growth and development. Outside of work, you can find him thrifting, coloring, and walking most places.
